Vancouver VK Power Ranking Information
How the Power Rankings Work
Below is a run down on how you can earn power ranking points during the series.Bonus for Every VK Attempt
Every time you run a VK course you will receive a power ranking bonus. You will receive this bonus even if you went off course, or potentially didn't finish the course due to some circumstance (always safety first!). The point allocation is as follows:
- Grouse Mountain group (9 courses) finishing on Grouse Mountain: 25pts
- Grouse Mountain group (3 courses) finishing on Mt Fromme: 50pts
- The Sea to Sky Group (5 courses): 75pts
- The Backcountry Group (3 courses): 100pts
Each New Course Run
Every time you run a new course you haven't run before you receive a power ranking bonus of 50ptsBonus for Every Course Record Set
Every time you set a new course record you receive a points bonus of: 150pts. You retain your bonus even if someone else subsequently sets a new faster time in the future.
Bonus for Running Every Course in a Group
Run all the courses in a group (Grouse or Sea to Sky or Backcountry) and receive a bonus:
- Grouse Mountain group (12 courses): 1000pts
- The Sea to Sky Group (5 courses): 1000pts
- The Backcountry Group (3 courses): 1000pts
Run All 20 Courses in the Series
Run all the courses in the series and receive a bonus of 2000pts
Weekly Vert Winner
Climb the most Vert in the week and gain a bonus of 200pts
Monthly Vert Winner
Climb the most Vert in the month and gain a bonus of 1000pts
Monthly Vert Winner for each VK Course (Minimum 2 course attempts required)
Climb the most Vert in the month for a VK course and gain a bonus of 200pts
Series Winner - Most Vert
Series winner for most VK climbs 2500pts
Series Winner - Most Vert for each VK Course
Series winner for most climbs on each VK course: 500pts
Series Winner Most Climbs in Course Group
Run the most courses in a course group for the series

Run Multiple VK's in a Day
Run more than one VK in a day and receive a points bonus (it can be different courses).
Note: If you take the tram down for a Grouse Group VK (or are shuttled down by any other means car etc..) you will be deducted 50% of the weighted bonus points allocated for each climb. If you run down, you will receive the full points allocation. (E.g. 2 VK in a day on Grouse courses: 1 tram down, 1 run down = 200pts / 2 = 100pts weighted per climb. 100pts * 50% for one climb = 50. +100 for other climb = 150pts awarded )
